Favourite Outdoor activities: Mountain biking, Kayaking, Tramping, Pack rafting in our stunning country!
Must do adventure in NZ: Oh so many!! If MTB –Heaphy/ Old Ghost Road Combo. Tramping – anywhere in the South that takes me off the beaten track and into the mountains. Kayaking: I love the Clutha river – a wee gem that river.
Things I’ve done: I started my outdoor life as a multisporter and was lucky enough to do Coast to Coast, Goldrush, Mt Cook to Christchurch and other events. I then turned my hand to the K1 both marathon and sprint – that was an awesome journey. When I finished this, I was really wanting some adventures so Spring Challenge morphed into Godzone(s) and more recently Brevet riding (bike-packing).
I started coaching after some study in 2009 and haven’t looked back. I love working with motivated people of all walks of life to help them achieve their sporting goal. The combination of my coaching and nursing are a wonderful mix. I can’t seem to stop studying and am currently plugging my way through another PGDip. I figure we only get one life and this isn’t a dress rehearsal so try to fit as much in as possible!
Fave Piece of kit from FurtherFaster: Peak UK Pogies – heaven on those cold CHCH days in winter. And currently living in my Montane Featherlight down vest – so warm!
Any fun facts: Have a pact with a group of mates when we are 70 if we are all still around and riding to do RAAM as a team (Race across America).
